Monitor Calibration

My friend John has introduced me today to a whole new world: the subject of monitor calibration - apparently indispensable if you care about fine-tuning printed phographs. I have never got in to this in a big way, but perhaps there will come a time when I want to explore printing out my own photos...And when I do, I will be referring to the following very useful link that John sent me, which explains the business very well:
