Evening before New Year's Eve

A strange as the New Year pokes it's head around the corner. Very strong wind blowing outside my flat window in North East London. Rain intermittent.

Watching John Woo's "Face/Off" for the second time. Noticed the forward slash in the title this time around.

Woo is good at shoot-outs in cavernous spaces which are nonetheless cluttered with awkward metallic obstacles...In this case a crashed private jet sticking through the outer wall of a hangar.

Discovering the joys of a Roberts Digital Radio: in particular listening addictively to "Classic FM", walking the radio from room to room in my tiny flat: the "Chart show" this morning - that is the chart for the most popular CDs bought this year. Trouble is, some of them are compilation CDs so the programme makers themselves had to select from each compilation a tune that "probably was" one of the most popular on that particular CD....A difficult one. You mean if the first movement of the Eroica" wins does that mean that this tune was the popular for 2006 or merely one of the tracks on a CD that happened to be the year's most popular compilation? An interesting dilemma. Does anyone care.
